Assessment & Examination
Theory:
Assessment is conducted via a multiple-choice question (MCQ) exam.
Exams are conducted under supervised conditions to ensure security and fairness.
A minimum score of 32 out of 40 (71%) is required to pass for unit 1 and minimum score 24 out of 30 is required to pass for unit 2 for SIA Door Supervisor Refresher Course.
Practical
Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in physical intervention techniques and conflict handling.
Both theory and practical assessments must be passed to achieve certification.
Examination Resits
We offer a NO PASS – NO RETAKE FEE policy, allowing one free re-take if the initial attempt is unsuccessful. Exam results of SIA Door Supervisor Refresher Course are provided within 7 to 14 working days.
Requirements for Admission

- A valid SIA Door Supervisor licence is required.
- Learners must hold a current first aid qualification.

The SIA Door Supervisor Refresher Course, also known as the SIA Top-Up Training, is a mandatory course required to renew your SIA Door Supervisor Licence. It updates your skills and knowledge in first aid, physical intervention, and counter-terrorism awareness to meet the latest SIA regulations.
You need this course if your SIA Door Supervisor Licence was issued before 1st April 2021. All Door Supervisors renewing their licence must complete the SIA refresher (top-up) training before reapplying to the SIA.
The refresher course usually takes 2 days to complete, including training and assessments. The duration may vary slightly depending on your training provider.
Yes. You must hold a valid Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) certificate (or higher-level equivalent) with at least 12 months validity remaining before you can attend the refresher training.
Once you pass the refresher training, you’ll receive a new qualification certificate. You can then log in to your SIA online account and apply to renew your licence. Our team can guide you through the renewal process if you need support.
