First Aid at Work Course (SCQF)​

Overview of Course

The First Aid at Work Course is a complete course that teaches people the basic skills they need to give first aid. Anyone who wants to learn how to give first aid at work or in other places that follow the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 can get this qualification. It covers a lot of ground, like how to evaluate an incident, deal with an unresponsive victim, do CPR, help someone who is choking, treat wounds, stop bleeding, and more.

Through practical training and scenarios, participants will gain the knowledge they need to respond to emergencies with confidence. Course Details

  • The duties along with responsibilities of a first responder​
  • Safely analyzing an emergency situation
  • performing CPR and AED
  • Giving first aid to a person who is choking
  • Managing minor injuries, burns, scalds, shock, and bleeding.
  • Helping individuals who have suffered head, chest, or spinal injuries as well as fractures​.
  • Deal with heart attacks, strokes, and other serious conditions.
  • Identifying and managing Regurgitation​

Duration and Requirements for Admission

Every candidate needs to be at least 16 years old. Three days are allotted for this course, with six hours per day (not including breaks).

Assessment

Each component’s assessment paperwork, which is graded pass/fail, is used to evaluate First Aid at Work Course .

Practical observation

During the course delivery, the practical assessment is finished. Students have to show practical first aid skills.

Multiple-Choice Questions

All candidates must respond to a series of multiple-choice questions in order to take the multiple-choice theory assessment. All components must be passed.

Examination Resits

We have a policy of NO PASS – NO RETAKE FEE, so if you do not pass there is no charge for re-takes. Exam results will be made available within 7 to 14 working days.
